The five older children were also baptized on this date. The
fact of Sarah taking the "baptismal covenant" indicates that
she was likely the descendent of a member of the Puritan Church
but who had not to that point as an adult submitted to
examination and made public covenant of faith. By her baptism
she was making the baptism, and therefore for the children
making possible partial membership and attendant future
