If Only The Walls Could Talk
If
the walls could talk.
What would they say?
I'm listening walls.
Speak up!
Oh,
my goodness,
you can talk!
And so many of you!
The bricks in the walls
are full of memories.
I
ask you, all of you,
what do you think of
our plays here in this
small theater?
Ah...
you like the musicals.
You say they are
energetic, fun to watch,
and lots of smiles.
But,
when the audience finishes
their applause and the curtain
goes down and everyone leaves,
we are sad.
The
lights are turned off.
The theater is empty,
dark and quiet,
but, with more
memories to share.
Until
next time.

The
lives represented in our data bases and letters encompass the entire
history and much of the geography of this nation. No single ancestor
achieved any degree of fame, or for that matter fortune. I
find this a happy circumstance because unconscious of being actors
in great dramas they are just there as they were .... and I at least
have come to appreciate the greatness and power of the drama
written by ordinary people. ~wlw
However
the primary motivation for presenting transcriptions of these Watkins,
Hirst, and Clark letters is to make the regional data contained
available as soon as possible for genealogical researchers.
A second publication is planned for the near future It will present
more traditionally organized data and a narrative referencing our
descent lines.
